OKE OFA, ATIPE SET AGOG WITH EJILUDE ALÁKOKO MAIDEN RAMADAN LECTURE.


The compound of Ejilude Alakoko was set agog yesterday with the Maiden Ramadan lecture, which took place at the family house in Idi aka.

The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Abdul-rahmon Ọpa Musa, who was born in the area as well. He charged the audience on how to strengthen the family ties, and the reasons to do so. "When I was called that there would be today, and mogaji asked if I would be available, I replied him that, even if the date had been fixed for another event, it has to be cancelled. If I didn't come to my home, no matter the amount given by outsider, who would?" Sheikh said.

The event, which was first of its kind for the family as well the compound at large was powered and hosted by the compound's Chief, Mogaji Ejilola Abiodun of the Ejilude Alakoko dynasty, Oke ofa, Atipe, Ìbàdàn.

"Family compound is not a place where they take or kill glory, young ones should be coming home, especially to the family. They should not forget home. Mothers should encourage their children to never forget home", Mogaji exhorted.

"No palace in a compound but magistrate. The Olúbàdàn chieftaincy lines have been the best and in existence since 1850, and has been the best anywhere, even the Whites supported it." "Mogaji is a compound chief, who is installed by the king for each compound to see to their affairs, manage them and find resolution to family disputes", Ejilola Said.

It was a fulfilled event and will continue to be hosted yearly.
